ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER

Photography is ... having imagination while keeping the illusion of reality…

Kristian Dill - 2009 Artist Statement

While photographing, I seek to capture moments that document human emotions. I attempt to express creativity with my photography. Through patterns and shapes, and light and shadow, working in black & white gives a special feeling, which accentuates different tonalities of the subject.

A sentence I like particularly that I believe defines the art of photography is “A photographer does not highlight the beauty, but removes what prevents to see it!”
Sounds so good to me ...
About Kristian Dill

I am a self-taught photographer from Neuchâtel (French-speaking region of Switzerland). I became fascinated with photography from an early age and have been making photographs since 1976, taking snapshots with an 155X Instamatic Kodak camera, then starting more serious shots with an old 6x6 Agfa Isolette II. This passion led to my first 35mm camera purchase in 1986, bought with my first salary. My work began with the traditional chemical darkroom, and since 2002 I have been photographing digitally.

All my prints are available for sale. Please contact me for any enquiries.
